چکیده

This paper deals with optimal control problems for systems that are affine in one part of the control variables and nonlinear in the rest of the control variables. We have finitely many equality and inequality constraints on the initial and final states. First we obtain second order necessary and sufficient conditions for weak optimality. Afterwards, we propose a shooting algorithm, and we show that the sufficient condition above-mentioned is also sufficient for the injectivity of the shooting function at the solution.

Well-Posedness of the Shooting Algorithm for State Constrained Optimal Control Problems with a Single Constraint and Control

This paper deals with the shooting algorithm for optimal control problems with a scalar control and a regular scalar state constraint. Additional conditions are displayed, under which the so-called alternative formulation is equivalent to Pontryagin’s minimum principle. The shooting algorithm appears to be well-posed (invertible Jacobian), iff (i) the no-gap second order sufficient optimality c...

The Shooting Approach to Optimal Control Problems

We give an overview of the shooting technique for solving deterministic optimal control problems. This approach allows to reduce locally these problems to a finite dimensional equation. We first recall the basic idea, in the case of unconstrained or control constrained problems, and show the link with second-order optimality conditions and the analysis or discretization errors. Then we focus on...

Time Domain Inverse Problems in Nonlinear Systems Using Collocation & Radial Basis Functions

In this study, we consider ill-posed time-domain inverse problems for dynamical systems with various boundary conditions and unknown controllers. Dynamical systems characterized by a system of second-order nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) are recast into a system of nonlinear first order ODEs in mixed variables. Radial Basis Functions (RBFs) are assumed as trial functions for th...

Singular solutions in optimal control: second order conditions and a shooting algorithm

In this article we study optimal control problems for systems that are affine in one part of the control variable. Finitely many equality and inequality constraints on the initial and final state are considered. We investigate singular solutions for this class of problems. First, we obtain second order necessary and sufficient conditions for weak optimality. Afterwards, we propose a shooting al...
